Congressman Cleaver’s Statement in Support of Historic House Floor Sit-in to Address Mass Gun Violence
WASHINGTON, DC– Democratic Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) released the following statement today in support of the sit-in on the House Floor, led by Georgia Congressman John Lewis, in support of taking action against mass gun violence and demanding a vote in the House of Representatives:
"This is just too important to ignore. Mass shootings that claim the lives of innocent Americans should not be the norm. And make no mistake, it is time to finally close the terror gap once and for all, by barring gun sales to persons on the FBI's terrorist watch list. We must allow a vote on the House floor!"
