Rep. Cleaver Attends Official Ribbon Cutting for Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Remodel
Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Remodel Project is one of ten community projects Representative Cleaver championed and successfully secured funding for in FY22
(Kansas City, MO) – Yesterday, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) joined Raytown Mayor Mike McDonough, Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation President Vicki Turnbow, and members of the Raytown Chamber of Commerce for the official ribbon cutting for the remodeled Raytown Chamber of Commerce building following long overdue renovations and improvements to the facility. The Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation was the recipient of $200,000 in Community Project Funding secured by Rep. Cleaver to help facilitate the renovation of the entire 33-year-old Raytown Chamber of Commerce building, including necessary ADA accessibility improvements at the entrance and interior.
“One of my highest priorities as a Representative is delivering federal dollars back to Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District to invest in our community, workers, and the small businesses who help make our local economies thrive,” said Congressman Cleaver. “I am thrilled to have been able to secure $200,000 for the Raytown Chamber of Commerce’s building remodel project, which will increase economic development by making this pillar of the community more accessible to businesses and entrepreneurs throughout Raytown.”
“The Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation is grateful for the Community Project Funding we received for our building remodel and accessibility project,” said Vick Turnbow, President Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation. “We promised Congressman Cleaver we would be good stewards of the funding, and I feel we are. Our capital campaign began in March of 2020 and with all the donations and grants, this project became a reality. We invite you to stop by and see the building, it is truly beautiful and one the community of Raytown can be proud of for years to come.”
