(Kansas City, MO) – Today, after expressing strong opposition to the Trump Administration about federal layoffs in Kansas City, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver released the following statement condemning the Trump Administration’s directive to fire approximately 100 federal workers at the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Kansas City campus.

(Washington, D.C.) – Yesterday, in an effort to hear directly from those impacted, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) hosted a listening session with federal workers and local labor unions from Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District to discuss the Trump Administration’s assault on the federal workforce and actions by President Trump and Elon Musk to undermine federal agencies and labor protections for civil servants.
