Lacy Clay (D-MO) delivered a letter to Secretary Sonny Perdue of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), calling on Secretary Perdue to protect Missourians by supporting the Missouri Department of Social Services' request for a waiver that would allow Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Special Supplement Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) beneficiaries to receive groceries by delivery.

(Kansas City, MO) – United States Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Gregory Meeks (D-NY), along with Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Kamala Harris (D-CA) and over 80 of their fellow lawmakers in the U.S. House and Senate, have called on the Department of Treasury and Small Business Administration (SBA) to require lenders to report on the demographics of any lending from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) introduced H.R. 6457, the Disaster and Emergency Pricing Abuse Prevention Act, to combat predatory price gouging tactics, which have surged during the coronavirus pandemic. Cleaver's bill would prohibit excessive and unjustified price increases in the sale of essential goods and services in anticipation of, during, or immediately following a pandemic, natural disaster, or state of emergency. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) has sponsored and introduced the same bill in the U.S. Senate.
