(Washington, D.C.) – United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO), along with Representative Michael Kelly (R-PA), led 53 lawmakers in a bipartisan letter encouraging the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to extend its deadlines to allow families with dependents to receive the full amount of their Economic Impact Payment. The deadline for Americans to file their information with the IRS was Wednesday, April 22.

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the United States House of Representatives passed H.R. 266, the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, with United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) voting in favor of the legislation. The bill will provide over $350 billion in small business loans, $10 billion in small business grants, $75 billion for hospitals and health care providers across the country, and $25 billion to ramp up testing needed to reopen the country. It will now go to the President's desk to be signed into law immediately.

(Kansas City, MO) – The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced it would offer cash-strapped mortgage servicers much-needed financial relief by limiting the obligations servicers must pay to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on missed payments from single-family loans. Additionally, the FHFA announced they would support homeowners and mortgage lenders by also approving the purchase of single-family mortgages in forbearance that meet specific eligibility criteria.
