(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 133, an omnibus spending bill consisting of all 12 fiscal year 2021 appropriations bills, emergency coronavirus relief, and authorizations. (Washington, D.C.) – Yesterday, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced it would allocate another $49.2 million to the Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension project. The Main Street Extension project will be a 3.5 mile extension of the Kansas City Downtown Streetcar from the current streetcar terminus at Union Station to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).
(Washington, D.C.) – This week, United States Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Karen Bass (D-CA) introduced H.R. 8915, the Preparing Superfund For Climate Change Act. The legislation would require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to account for climate change in their plans for managing Superfund sites, which are polluted locations that contain hazardous toxic waste and other contaminants harmful to public health. U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) has introduced identical legislation in the Senate.
