The bill addresses the multiemployer pension crisis facing over one million Americans across the nation, serving as an important backstop to ensure that retirees do not lose the pensions they earned through decades of hard work. Congressman Cleaver was an original cosponsor of the bill, which passed the House with a vote of 264-169 and will now go to the Senate.
