(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO), Derek Kilmer (D-WA), Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), and William Timmons (R-SC) proposed an amendment to the Constitution to temporarily fill vacancies in the House of Representatives to further the continuity of Congress (Continuity Amendment) and reduce the incentive for political violence.

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, with more than 80 mass shootings already recorded in the United States in 2024, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) re-introduced legislation to withhold pay from Members of Congress following mass shootings. The No Pay Until Peace Act would withhold one month’s paycheck from every Member of Congress each month there is a mass shooting in the United States.

The funding secured by Rep. Cleaver has supported the creation of a combined Hispanic Chamber and Heartland Black Chamber location, allowing the organizations to jointly serve an array of minority businesses throughout the region.
