(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) voted in favor of H.R. 8373, the Right to Contraception Act, to protect the fundamental right to contraception and enshrine this right in federal law. Specifically, the legislation would ensure that neither states nor a hostile Administration can limit Americans' access to contraceptives or the ability of health care providers to provide contraceptives and information related to them. (Washington, D.C.) – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8294, a package of six government funding bills for Fiscal Year 2023, with the support of U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO). Included in the government funding package were 14 of the 15 Community Project Funding requests submitted by Rep. Cleaver, totaling $38.25 million. Funding for the 15th project is expected to be passed by the House of Representatives in a separate government funding package later this month. H.R.

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) voted in favor of H.R. 8404, the Respect for Marriage Act, to enshrine marriage equality and protections for same-sex and interracial couples into federal law. The bipartisan bill, which would codify the protections afforded under the Supreme Court's Obergefell and Loving decisions, passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 267-157.

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8296, the Women's Health Protection Act, and H.R. 8297, the Ensuring Women's Right to Reproductive Freedom Act, to protect reproductive freedom nationwide and stop Republican state legislatures from criminalizing, fining, or suing Americans who exercise their constitutional right to travel across state lines to obtain a lawful abortion.
