WASHINGTON, DC - Moments ago, the House of Representatives passed unanimously by voice vote Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II's amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, designating the Liberty Memorial of Kansas City at America's National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, as the "National World War I Museum and Memorial." Additionally, this amendment redesignates Pershing Park, located along Pennsylvania Avenue in the District of Columbia, as the "National World War I Memorial."

KANSAS CITY TO GET NATIONAL RECOGNITION AND DESIGNATION


This week marked a milestone for Missouri's Fifth District, as I joined with Senators Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt, to jointly introduce legislation that will make Kansas City the only city in the nation with the distinction of having the National World War I Museum and Memorial.

Washington DC -- Congressman Cleaver and Congressman Ted Poe along with Senators Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt jointly introduced legislation today that will make Kansas City the only city in the nation with the distinction of having the National World War I Museum and Memorial.

The bill will designate the Liberty Memorial at the National World War I Museum -- as the "National World War I Museum and Memorial."
