Cleaver adds amendment to connect green construction with green education

Thursday, the Credit Cardholder’s Bill of Rights Act of 2009 (H.R. 627) which Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II, Chairman Barney Frank (D-NY), Subcommittee Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) and Sens. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Mark Udall (D-CO) are cosponsoring, passed the House of representatives by a vote of 357-70.

This comprehensive credit card reform legislation is aimed at leveling the playing field between credit card companies and consumers and abolishes industry abuses that are unfair, deceptive and anti-competitive.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Cleaver, II is proud to announce that the City of Kansas City, Missouri through its Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a $350,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to study and plan for the development of a Climate Sustainability Center. The Center is to be located east of Troost at Volker Boulevard and signals a significant federal investment in an anchor project for what is now known as the Green Impact Zone.
