(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II calls on the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the current use of facial recognition software by law enforcement agencies. Some state, federal and municipal law enforcement agencies use facial recognition to identity suspects and expedite investigations. A growing body of evidence suggests that the technology has the potential to disproportionately impact minorities and women – among other concerns.
(Kansas City, MO) – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II sent a letter to the Financial Services Committee calling for a congressional hearing with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and various national banks to inquire about a recently surfaced policy that requires customers to prove their citizenship status.

I've visited with farmers in the Higginsville community and invited the Canadian Consul, John Cruickshank, to answer some of their questions.
The issue isn't going away, in fact, I think there are others out there whom I haven't heard from. Small contractors and others who help keep these larger industries flowing smoothly are worried about their future because of the tariffs.

I am truly excited that the VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the largest and oldest veterans service organization, will be holding their 119th National Convention in the Fifth District of Missouri.
Thousands of veterans, families and supporters will descend upon Kansas City, MO this weekend to continue their mission of servicing veterans across the world.
I'm looking forward to welcoming VFW at their national convention.

While it is the President's duty to nominate a justice, the Senate is given the responsibility of vetting and either confirming or denying the President's selection.
