Named in honor of Cady Housh and Gemesha Thomas, two students from the Kansas City region who were tragically victims of suicide, the bipartisan legislation aims to combat youth suicide by providing schools, teachers, and students nationwide with evidence-informed suicide prevention strategies and tools to assist at-risk youth.

Students who are approved for free or reduced-price meals for the 2021-2022 school year can apply for a one-time $375 Summer P-EBT benefit.
