(Kansas City, MO) – Yesterday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) passed their Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) appropriations bill to fund the Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and related agencies. Included in the funding bill was more than $8.2 million requested by U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) to fund five separate projects in the Fifth Congressional District of Missouri.

(Kansas City, MO) – Today, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies passed their Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations bill to fund the Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, and related government agencies. Included in the appropriations bill was $6 million requested by U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) to fund three separate projects in the Fifth Congressional District of Missouri.

(Kansas City, MO) – Yesterday, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) visited Odessa, Higginsville, and Lawson, Missouri, to share important information regarding the upcoming Child Tax Credit payments that will begin on July 15th. The expanded Child Tax Credit was included in the American Rescue Plan, which was passed by Congress in March with Congressman Cleaver's support. Economists estimate that the tax relief has the potential to cut child poverty in America in half.

(Kansas City, MO) – Today, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) announced that hardworking Missourians throughout the State have received over 3.1 million Economic Impact Payments totaling more than $7.5 billion in 2021. The Economic Impact Payments were secured as part of the American Rescue Plan, a transformative relief package Congressman Cleaver helped to pass in March.

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) voted in favor of the Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation (INVEST) in America Act, which passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 221-201. The monumental infrastructure package includes $22.6 million in funding for five projects in Missouri's Fifth Congressional District—projects that Congressman Cleaver fought to ensure were included in the final package.

Res. 503, a resolution establishing the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. The House Select Committee comes following Senate Republicans' successful effort to obstruct a bipartisan commission, modeled after the 9/11 commission and passed by the House of Representatives with bipartisan support, to investigate the insurrection that occurred on January 6th.
