WASHINGTON, DC– Democratic Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) released the following statement today in support of the sit-in on the House Floor, led by Georgia Congressman John Lewis, in support of taking action against mass gun violence and demanding a vote in the House of Representatives:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-5) and Congressional Black Caucus Chair, G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) submitted a letter to the CEO of Airbnb, Inc., Brian Chesky. The letter, which can be read here, addresses recent reports of discrimination against African Americans and other minorities who attempt to book rooms online with Airbnb.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) recently submitted a letter to the Department of Labor asking for technology companies that hold sizable government contracts to develop written affirmative-action programs.
